readingqueer: 3D maps of the Greenland coast made by Inuit carvers/mapmakers Hard to find good articles about these, but this is a good start. Apparently Inuits carved coastlines with inlets and everything into the wood and then used them for navigation by touch, so they could even be used in the dark, inside their mittens. Killer.
